BUST or CHEST measurement is the circumference measurement taken from just below the armpits from seam to seam. The measurement is taken with the dress flat on a table. There is actually another two to three inches of allowance provided by the front chest darts. The Bias Cut of fabric provides a small amount of 'give' or stretch to the dress allowing for some forgiveness between sizes. WAIST is measured half way down the dress, approximately ten and a half inches (10 1/2) inches below the bust measurement HIP is the circumference measurement taken approximately ten (10) inches above the bottom of the hem. LENGTH is measured from top of the shoulder to the bottom of the hem. |
